End user licence agreement

This agreement is between you (or the organisation you represent) and Souq E Kamil Trading and Solutions WLL, Kingdom of Bahrain. By installing or using LeoCore Backup you accept it.

1. Licence granted

Solo edition. A free, perpetual, non-exclusive licence to install and use the Solo edition on any number of machines you own or control, including for commercial purposes, subject to the limits built into that edition.

Server and Datacenter editions. A perpetual, non-exclusive licence to install and use the edition stated on your licence, on the number of machines stated on your licence. One machine means one Windows installation, regardless of how many database instances it connects to. The Server edition covers up to five databases in total across all backup jobs on that machine; the Datacenter edition is unlimited.

2. Moving a licence

You may move a licence between machines as often as you need. Release the seat in the application, or from the offline activation page, and activate the replacement machine. Hardware replacement, virtual machine migration and disaster recovery rebuilds are expected uses, not breaches.

3. What you may not do

• Redistribute, resell, rent or sublicense the software, except as an authorised reseller under a separate written agreement.
• Remove or alter licensing, copyright or attribution notices.
• Circumvent the licence enforcement, or use a key you did not obtain lawfully.

You may decompile or reverse engineer the software to the extent that applicable law gives you that right notwithstanding this agreement.

4. Your data is yours

We claim no ownership of, and no rights over, the databases you back up or the archives LeoCore produces. Restoring a backup is never restricted by licence status. If your licence lapses, is refunded or is revoked, every archive you already hold remains fully restorable, and backups already scheduled continue to run through the grace period described in the documentation. Archives use a standard Zip64 container with AES-256 encryption and can be opened by third-party tools without our software.

5. Updates

The paid editions include updates for the lifetime of the product. We may make a future major version a separate paid product; if we do, your existing licence continues to work and continues to receive fixes for the version you own.

6. Warranty

We warrant that the software will perform substantially as described in its documentation. If it does not, tell us: we will fix it, or refund you. Beyond that, the software is provided "as is" to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Please read this part. Backup software is one part of a recovery strategy, not the whole of it. You remain responsible for verifying that your backups meet your own recovery objectives, for testing your restores — the Datacenter restore-drill feature exists precisely so this is easy — and for keeping copies in more than one place.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of this agreement is limited to the amount you paid for the licence in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for lost profits, lost data, or indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in this agreement excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.

8. Termination

This licence ends if you materially breach it and do not remedy the breach within 30 days of us telling you. On termination you must stop using the software — but clause 4 survives, and your existing archives remain restorable.

9. Third-party components

LeoCore Backup includes open-source components under their own licences. The complete list and licence texts are installed with the product and available at /docs/third-party/.

10. Governing law

The laws of the Kingdom of Bahrain govern this agreement.
